John Speziale is a singer/songwriter residing in Southeastern Connecticut. He has performed solo and in bands for many years. His music is inspired by many genres, among them folk, rock and roll, blues and country. His lyrics often cast a darkly humorous light on the human condition.

John has recorded and/or performed with some outstanding musicians, including: Dave Mattacks (Fairport Convention), Kevin Barry (Mary Chapin Carpenter, J. Geils Band), Larry Luddecke (John Hammond, Jonathan Edwards). He has also shared a stage with and has accompanied up and coming singer/songwriters Will Houlihan (Haunt the House), Dan Blakeslee and Brian McKenzie.  John currently performs with the Americana influenced Sweet Mercy! and the retro rock trio MEN WITH GUITARS.

John’s song “Forest for the Trees,” from his album Some Things Have Happened Since We Last Spoke, reached the position of number 69 out of 2,500 songs on Neil Young’s Living with War website. The album was a recommended new release in Dirty Linen magazine. He is currently working on songs with his new acoustic band Sweet Mercy! and an album which will represent his personal take on Americana.
